TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC PURCHASERS CHAPTER

TAPP is committed to the development, support and promotion of the public procurement profession through premier educational and research programs, professional support, and advocacy initiatives that benefit members and constituents.

As the Austin, Texas chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), we offer educational sessions and presentations designed to provide our membership with the information, professional development and technical assistance required to secure the public trust and further the goals and ethics of the public procurement profession.

TAPP also offers unique networking opportunities to our members through regular membership meetings which provide a forum for the interchange of ideas and experiences, and through which we can solicit expert advice on local, state, national and international issues pertinent to our discipline.

We encourage our members to participate in the professional certification programs offered by NIGP and the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC). The CPPO (Certified Public Procurement Officer) and the CPPB (Certified Professional Public Buyer) certifications designate that recipients have evidenced a standard of competency for the benefit of the public.

Certification reflects established standards and competencies for those engaged in governmental purchasing, and attests to the purchaser's ability to obtain maximum value for the taxpayer's dollar.

We invite you to join us at an upcoming meeting and discover how TAPP can help further your knowledge of the profession, and benefit your career.
